Our commitment to sustainability

How Cadbury is approaching sustainability

We’re working to make sure our products are not only right for people, but also right for the planet.

So we think carefully about the raw materials we rely on, and how we can make a more positive effect on the lives of the communities we live in, and work with.

MOVING TO RECYCLED PLASTIC PACKAGING

We are focused on three areas with regards to sustainable packaging:

REDUCING unnecessary packaging and using lightweight materials.
EVOLVING packaging design to make it recyclable and include recycled content.
SUPPORTING the development of a circular economy.

That's why the core range of Cadbury tablets are now wrapped in 80% ISCC certified recycled plastic, allocated through the mass balance principle, using ~600 tonnes of post consumer recycled plastic in the production process. This is equivalent to ~300 million bars per year. This is made possible through advanced recycling technology, and we aim to increase the use of recycled materials in our packaging in the future.

This is just one action we’ve taken to increase our use of post consumer recycled plastic.

10 years focused on making Cocoa more sustainable

Over the last decade, we’ve been working hard to help make sure the cocoa in the Cadbury chocolate you love is sourced in a more sustainable way, with an aim to be both kind to the planet, and the people who grow it.
